John Staluppi and Atlantic Auto Group Proudly Support Pediatric Cancer Research

Organizations such as Hyundai Hope on Wheels appreciate the efforts of John Staluppi and Atlantic Auto Group for their continued support of their fight against cancer.
John Staluppi recently attended The Second Annual Gala Reception Dinner for the benefit of the National Kidney Registry where two of John Staluppi’s Atlantic Auto Group executives—Michael Brown and John Pickett—were being honored for their work with the National Kidney Registry. The event also acknowledged the tremendous support John Staluppi and his Atlantic Auto Group have provided for the Jimmy Fund/Hyundai Hope on Wheels. 
Also in attendance that evening was David O’Brien, a representative of Hyundai Motor Corp’s Hope on Wheels and the Jimmy Fund, who shared his thoughts and praises of John Staluppi and the Atlantic Auto Group.
"Nobody is more generous and not one dealer in the entire country has contributed more than Atlantic Auto Group," said David O’Brien at the gala dinner. Mr. O’Brien also noted that the prevalence of philanthropy throughout Atlantic Auto Group makes it not just a good company, but a great company.
Mr. O’Brien continued to speak about the unprecedented generosity of John Staluppi and his Atlantic Auto Group by adding there was never any hesitation when Atlantic Auto Group was first asked to make a donation to Hyundai Motor causes. Atlantic Auto Group was the first to respond showing how important pediatric cancer research is to John Staluppi.
The Jimmy Fund started in 1948 when the Boston Braves baseball team came together to save a 12-year-old cancer patient they named “Jimmy” as they broadcasted a radio visit between Jimmy and the team. Years later when John Staluppi and his company learned about the organization, they were eager to contribute to keep the cause alive and to help find a cure for cancer.
Other charities like Hyundai Hope on Wheels is also helping kids fight cancer. John Staluppi’s three Hyundai dealerships on Long Island are dedicated to finding better treatments and therapies as the effort to find a cure continues. Hyundai Hope on Wheels started in 1998 with approximately 800 dealerships raising a few thousand dollars. Now, Hope on Wheels has awarded more than $14.2 million for the fight against pediatric cancer.

The National Kidney Registry has been facilitating living donor transplants since 2008. Both Atlantic Auto Group executives, John Pickett and Michael Brown, have offered their generous and enthusiastic support for the National Kidney Registry while overseeing the daily and long term operations of John Staluppi’s Atlantic Auto Group.
This second annual gala event also acknowledged other charitable donations given by John Staluppi and his company to two organizations: Hyundai Hope on Wheels and the Jimmy Fund. Both of these organizations are partnered together searching for a cure for pediatric and adult cancer.   
“Hyundai's multifaceted partnership with Dana-Farber [Cancer Institute] helps people of all ages fight cancer, while allowing us to capitalize on the Jimmy Fund's commanding presence in the community,” said Bob Cosmai, former CEO of the Hyundai Corporation, in a quote on JimmyFund.org. “By serving as presenting sponsor of the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, Hyundai increased its branding and marketing, while helping find cures for cancer.”
The Jimmy Fund organization was founded in 1948 and is currently located at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, while the Hyundai Hope on Wheels campaign is intertwined with more than 800 Hyundai dealerships across the nation.
